“城中村”大致分为三类，即内环以内的“城中村”（简称“城中村Ⅰ”）、内环与中环之间或处在城市近期重点建设区域的“城中村”（ 简称“城中村Ⅱ”）及中环以外或未列入近期重点建设区域的“城中村” （ 简称“城中村Ⅲ”）三类。“城中村Ⅰ”主导产业是商业和餐饮业，平均占到全部农村经济收入的78%；“城中村Ⅱ”大多没有明显的主导产业，%，而工业、运输业及其它服务行业收入所占比重较大，如郝庄，％，%。“城中村Ⅲ”主导产业情况相似于“城中村Ⅱ”，即没有明显的主导产业。有矿产资源的村庄主要产业为

从上面的分析中可以反映出，“城中村Ⅰ”处于城市建成区，四周均为城市用地，其第一、二产业比重几乎为零，且用地规模有限，因此服务、餐饮等第三产业成为村庄的主要产业；“城中村Ⅱ”由于城市市区在空间上快速发展，在短期内局部被城市所包围，而其自身形成的经济产业结构还存在，在受到城市经济发展与辐射带动作用下，出现了多种产业并行发展的格局；“城中村Ⅲ”远离城市中心区，在短时间内城市拓展过来的可能性较小，作为城市发展的储备用地，其农村经济产业发展时间更长，主要趋向于自发式发展，因而表现出村庄因地制宜，利用自身资源等优势发展产业的特点。
