Introduction
2 possible variants of the manual, SMG and automatic transmission will
be available in the E60 together with 2 variants of the final drive (rear
axle differential) (depending on the engine-bination).

Gearbox designations
With the exception of the final drives that have the designation 188K
and 215K respectively, the designations for the manual, SMG and
automatic gearboxes is based on the BMW Group Standard (GS) 90007.
