我们对这里的第一份自述原文进行了较为充分的评讲。希望读者能从中体会到一些写作技巧。这个自述作者在1997年写这个东西时,大学还没毕业,除了成绩不错外实在没有什么太多可以夸耀的。把它放在这里,希望读者从原稿和修改稿的对照中体会一下应该如何措辞和组织内容。

I was born in 1976 in Northeast China, an area that has long been known for the diligence of its people. (有后面这个修饰,前面的出生地才有提出的意义。要记住,好文章必须有个中心思想或目的,所有的段落、句子和选词都必须服务于这个目的。)Having obtained the highest total of scores in the National University Entrance Examinations in my native province of Liaoning, I graduated in 1994 from high school into the Beijing University, arguably China's best institution of higher learning. Seeking to ride the tide of the times in an era of reforms and opening-up, I did not hesitate in choosing international economics as my major, and then, at the beginning of the 1995-1996 academic year, law and accounting as my minors.
Devoted and hardworking, I am easily the envy of my peers. I have stayed among the top five per cent of the class in all subjects of my undergraduate studies. I was awarded the Certificate of Accountant earlier this year, making myself one of China's youngest accountants.
