The American Institute of Physics (AIP) is a 501(c)(3)
Chair of AIP Governing Board
membership corporation chartered in New York State in 1931
for the purpose of promoting the advancement and diffusion of Benjamin B. Snavely,
the knowledge of physics and its application to human Corporate Secretary
welfare. To this end, it is the purpose of AIP to undertake, Marc H. Brodsky,
among other measures: Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer

In order to achieve its purpose, AIP serves physics and related
fields of science and technology by serving its Member AIP MITTEE ON CLASSIFICATION
Societies, individual scientists, educators, students, R&D AND INFORMATION RETRIEVAL
leaders, and the general public with programs, services, and
