Public health is "the science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting health through anized efforts and informed choices of society, organizations, public and private, communities and individuals." (1920, . Winslow)
通过有组织的社区行动,社会、团体、公与私、社区与个体的知情选择,达到预防疾病、延长寿命、促进健康的科学与艺术。
What is Public Health? 什么是公共卫生?
公共卫生是以持久的全人群健康改善为目标的集体行动(Collection action for sustained population-wide health improvement)(2004,Robert Beaglehole)。
公共卫生与临床医学的比较
人群
It is concerned with threats to the overall health of munity based on population health analysis. The population in question can be as small as a handful of people or as large as all the inhabitants of several continents (for instance, in the case of a pandemic).
