Good morning, dear teachers and schoolmates. I’m...and he (she) is...We are from class 1507. Today our topic is The Prevention of Epidemic Diseases in Autumn And Winter.
As the end of year approaches, it’s getting colder and colder. With the decrease of temperature, it’s easier for the pathogens of respiratory disease to survive. Stimulated by cold air, the respiratory mucosa’s ability to defense against pathogens goes down. These two aspects make respiratory diseases mon in autumn and winter. Common respiratory diseases include flu, measles, chicken pox and even SARS and bird flu, which spread mainly through droplets.
To prevent respiratory diseases, we should pay attention to the following things:
First, avoid getting a cold. People are more likely to get sick when they catch a cold because less blood circulation make local resistance decrease. And due to the large temperature difference between day and night in autumn and winter, we should be sure to keep warm.
Second, keep the indoor air fresh. We should open the doors and windows and ventilate the classrooms during break times and at lunch though it’s cold outside.
Third, supplement the nutrition and increase the intake of water and
vitamins properly.
Fourth, live a regular life and have a good rest to keep healthy. Fifth, do more exercise, increase blood circulation and improve immunity.
