create sheet metal parts
The application range of sheet metal is very wide, such as: computer peripherals, iron bars etc.. The function of Inventor sheet metal has two characteristics: first, complete functions. All the actual application of sheet metal, Inventor can pleted. Second, the design function takes into account the processing requirements. The design process of sheet metal is often contrary to the manufacturing process, but because of the considerate design function of Inventor, anyone can easily design the required sheet metal style. This section will mainly introduce Inventor three ways to create sheet metal: flat plate, flange and profiled plate.
Although metal file extension , but it is not generally thin parts, we will see a lot of Inventor sheet metal design, first select the Sheet to start a metal file, as shown in figure 7-1. After entering, the sketch pattern of the sheet metal is the same as that of the parts, as shown in figure 7-2. First create a rectangular sketch, and then click the right mouse button to select "end"". Click the right mouse button again to select the end sketch". It can directly enter the sheet metal characteristic state.

1. sheet metal style
The sheet metal style specifies the default parameters for sheet metal parts. To create or edit parts, you can modify the "expansion" and "metal pressure release" option; but all other settings must be modified in the style sheet dialog box (the default is to modify all parts), or in the "parameters" dialog to modify (or modify individual sheet metal parts set). To produce 3D sheet metal parts from 2D sketches, the sheet metal pattern must be set first. Click the icon in the sheet metal toolbar, and Inventor will display the sheet metal style dialog box, as shown in figure 7-3.
