can't bring oneself to do something表示“不想做某事”。
这里的bring是“to force, persuade, or make (oneself)/逼迫、说服”的意思。
例句:I can't bring myself to discuss it. 我不想讨论这件事。
【2】背景知识:Phoenix
鳳凰城(Phoenix),又译菲尼克斯,是美国亚利桑那州的州府及最大城市。凤凰城于1881年2月25日被注册为城市,当时凤凰城在Navajo语中被称为Hoozdo,意为炎热之地;在西阿帕契语中被称为Fiinigis。凤凰城位于常年干枯的盐河两岸。凤凰城是美国最大的首府城市,人口超过其他州首府及美国首都华盛顿特区。凤凰城的面积居全美首府城市的第三位,仅次于阿拉斯加州首府朱诺和俄克拉荷马州首府俄克拉荷马市。
