Abstract pressiondeformationexperimentsonCarraramarblewereperformedinaPatersongasmediumapparatusata
confiningpressureof300MPa,temperaturesof873~1173K,andstrainratesofca10-6 ~10-3s-1Theexperimentalresultsshow
thatataconstantstrainrate,thestrengthofCarraramarbledecreasesastemperatureincreasesAtaconstanttemperature,thestrength
increasesrapidlyandthenslowlywithstrainrateincreasingIntheloglogplotofstrainratevsdifferentialstress,wefindtheslopes
ofthefittedlinesforconstanttemperatureexperimentaldatadecreasewithincreasingtemperatureandthedataforexperimentsat873K
andforexperimentsofhighstrainratesat973K,bestfittheexponentialrelationshipThere
