Definition
Western Cowboy is talked from the 18th to 19th Century, the United States, in the western part of the vast land. In the history of the United States, they are the development of the western part of the pioneers, their adventurous spirit, so the Americans were called“ heroes on horseback”.
Background And Introduction
Although American history had its origin in East Coast, Western Cowboy Culture is representation of American Spirit.
Soon after the civil war ended in 1865, thousands of land-hungry Americans began to move west. The great movement of settlers continued for almost forty years. 
As English-speaking traders and settlers moved into the Western United States, English and Spanish traditions, language and culture merged to some degree, with the tradition providing the foundation of the American cowboy.
There are some stubborn traditional l cowboys in the country of New Mexico. They are Spanish descent. The Spanish developed what we now consider the cowboy tradition.
They are smart , gentle, ambitious . And they like to show themselves in the public ,America defeated Mexico in the war ,then it established New Mexico.
It is a irony that cowboy is originated from Spanish , but nowdays this word is different from original meaning . Moreover , it’s a kind of spirit . It means independent , free, heroic.
The essence
Although American history had its origin in East Coast, Western Cowboy Culture is representation of American Spirit.
The first, the hard work and dangerous environment for the Cowboys withstood a severe test and exercise, the formation of a danger, industrious and brave, serious and self-improvement of the character traits.
The second, in hard work, cowboys not only have serious and responsible work attitude, but also there are strict discipline and the spirit of mutual assistance.
