不要过分抬高他人以至对之心怀畏惧。莫让想象屈服于心智。许多人貌似伟大，一旦相交便让人失望，而较少使评价增高。没有谁能超越人性的局限。人人的才智与性格都有需要完善之处。地位赋予人表面的权威，但很少与人真正的才德相符，命运往往使其才德不称其职位以示惩罚。想象力往往冲在前头，夸大事物，不但想象实有之物。还想象或有之物，理性凭借经验，应明辨事理，矫枉扶正。愚人不应鲁莽大胆，君子不宜懦弱胆怯。若说自信为愚鲁单纯之人增威，对有勇有谋之人又何异于如虎添翼！ 蠢人都很固执，固执的人都是蠢人，这种人越是观点错误，越要执迷不悟。其实，即便你真的是正确的，也不妨作一些让步：人们最终将会承认你是对的，井称道你的阔大气度。固执给你带来的损失大于你击败他人之所得。你一心要维护的不是真理而是粗暴无理。有的人脑袋似顽铁，倔强得不可救药，根本就无法说服他。固执一旦与想人非非联姻，那就结合成永远的愚蠢。意志要坚定不移，但作判断时却不要如此。当然，总有一些例外情况，那时你不应一退再退：在判断上一旦改变，在行动上就绝不可游移。
