中国和英语国家的文化差异显著地表现在节日方面。除中国和英语国家共同的节日(如,New Year’s Day)处,双方还各有自己独特的节日。中国有the Spring Festival, the Dragon Boat Festival, Mid—Autumn ,英语国家有”Valentine’s Day(情人节),Easter(复活节),April fool’s Day(愚人节),Thanks Giving Day(感恩节),Christmas Day(圣诞节)等。中西方节日的风俗****惯也很不相同。在节日里,对于别人送来的礼物,中国人往往要推辞一番,表现得无可奈何地接受,接受后一般也不当面打开。如果当面打开并喜形于色,可能招致“贪财”的嫌疑。而在英语文化中,人们对别人送的礼品,一般都要当面打开称赞一番,并且欣然道谢。因此,对西方节日的了解显得尤为重要
母亲节Mother's day
The second Sunday in May is Mother's day. Mother's day is a special day for everyone!On that day,children usually give their mother with cards,presents and flowers. But most of the people,like giving their mothers carnation(康乃磬) 。 Somebody said God could not be everywhere and he made mother.

Valentine's Day is on Februay 14th every that day, people always give their lovers some roses and chocolate(巧克力).Today, boys and girls look like sweet. They go to restaurants and have a big 's cards e more and more beautiful

圣诞节Christmas Day
December 25th is Christmas Day. On Christmas Day, many people will have big parties. They like eating turkey(火鸡), fruits and drinking some juice for supper. After supper, many people will go out for shopping and walking (walk) with their children. There are a lot of special things: Christmas trees, socks, Christmas card and some presents. So in Christmas Day, all the families are very happy.
