(1)每年的政府工作报告中英文一定要看,而且要对照着看。最好的办法是看一段中文,自己翻译成英文,然后和译文对照,会发现其中的很多问题。我们的官方文章通常比较概泛(说白了就是有些空洞),而且许多语汇可以做多种解释和翻译(subject to various interpretations),这个时候就需要以官方译文为准。例如:“保护”有多种译法,“保护权利”是safeguard,“保护资源”是conserve,“保护人民财产”是protect,根据具体语境不同还可以译为 forestall,save,keep等等。大家作练****的时候不要走马观花,一定要充分比较自己的翻译思路和译文的翻译思路。《政府工作报告》英文基本上涵盖了一年中的大小时事和新词汇。更重要的是要去学****标准译文对逻辑的把握。中国官方文章中通常使用排比,例如:加大……力度,规范……秩序,提高……能力,实现……社会。乍一看是并列结构,但是你看标准译文,不是并列,而是“加大……规范”是手段,“提高”是结果,“实现”是目标,译文中添加了中文没有的连词。大家比较的时候,一定要关注这些细微的地方。

2008年是极不平凡的一年。我国经济社会发展经受住了历史罕见的重大挑战和考验。在中国共产党领导下,全国各族人民迎难而上,奋力拼搏,战胜各种艰难险阻,改革开放和社会主义现代化建设取得新的重大成就。
