常用连词辨析
(1) because(因为)用于回答why的问句, because 不与so 连用。
as(因为)语气比because弱,since(既然)无需说明的原因for(因为)补充说明或提供解释
(2) “是否”,if和whether同义,引导宾从, 与or not,to do,介词连用,只用whether
而if还可以表示“如果”,引导条件状语从句,(主将从现)。
(3)while+进行时;when+一般时;as译为“一边……一边……”
(4)till/until与not…till/until: “直到……”“直到……才……”
(5) but “但是”表转折,道歉时也用 I’m sorry, but..... I’d like to, but.....
though,although,even though, even if:“虽然”,不可与but连用,但与still/yet连用
(6)prefer to do rather than do“宁愿……也不……”=would rather do than do
