方位介词: on, in 和 under
这三个介词都是用来指示位置关系的介词,与后面表示地点的宾语构成介词短语,表明
两个对象的位置关系,所以我们形象地称之
为方位介词。
on的意思为“在……的上面”,所提到的两个对象有一定的接触面。例如:
The little monkey is on the box.
这只小猴子在箱子上。
in意为“在……里面”,所提到的两个对象在位置上有相对的包含关系。
The three bottles are in the box.
under意为“在……下面”,所提到的两个对象没有接触面。
The football is under the table.

Where is …? ……在哪?
It’s under/ on/ in…它在……下面/上面/里面。
Where are…? ……在哪?
They’re under/ on/ in…
它们在……下面/上面/里面。
where’s 是where is 的缩写。这是一个由特殊疑问词where引导的特殊疑问句, 询问某物在何处。
Grammar Focus
在英语中,提问某人或某物在哪儿的句型为“where + is / are +主语”,如果句子的主语是可数名词的单数形式或不可数名词,用is,如果主语是可数名词的复数形式,用are。这类句子的答语往往是“It is / They are + 方位介词+名词或代词”。如:
--- Where is puter? 计算机在哪儿?
--- It’s on the desk. 它在桌子上。
--- Where are his keys? 他的钥匙在哪儿?
--- They are on the dresser. 它们在梳妆台上。
Where’s the pencil?
It’s on the desk.
Where’s the eraser?
It’s in the pencil-case.
