上海交通大学的双语教学现状以及改进建议

摘要
双语教学在中国的开展范围逐渐扩大很多大学甚至中小学都开展了双语
教学的课程但是由于双语教学对语言环境师资和学生水平的要求都较高双
语教学项目在中国的质量如何是值得探讨的一个问题所以我们需要对目前中
国的双语教学开展系统的评价和衡量来为它的进一步发展和进步指明方向
此论文将以上海交通大学的双语教学项目为例来探讨中究竟如何本项个案研究将着重讨论以下两个问题
1 上海交通大学的双语教学项目是否实现了它的初衷即参加项目的学生
是否在掌握专业知识和提高英语水平该两方面受益
2 该双语教学项目还应该在哪些方面继续改进
在这份个案研究中将会使用到教学观摩与授课教师和听课学生交谈等研
究方法和工具另外作者还进行了两次分别针对参加双语教学课程的大学二年
级学生和即将参加双语教学课程的大学一年级学生的调研根据通过上述方法收
集的数据作者分析和评价了目前的双语教学计划回答了第一个问题即该
双语教学课程是否在帮助学生掌握专业知识和提高英语水平这两方面实现它的初
衷在此分析的基础上作者还针对目前的情况提出了改进方法当然仅以一
个大学为例不可能概括中国所有大学的双语教学情况本文旨在为中国大学双
语教学的评价和改进提供一些解决方案和思路

The bilingual education program is now developing rapidly and involving
universities and even secondary and primary schools. However, since bilingual
education expects high from the linguistic environment, the faculty and the level of
students as well, the quality of bilingual education programs in China is still
questionable. Therefore, a systematic evaluation of the current bilingual programs in
China is needed in order to provide guidelines and directions for further development
and improvement.
The thesis is to discuss the quality of current bilingual programs as the university
level in China by employing the Bilingual Education Program in SJTU as an example.
The case study is conducted with the research questions:
i) whether the Bilingual Education Program in SJTU fulfills its goals and
how the students in the Program benefit from it, and
ii) what efforts are needed for its further improvement.
Various instruments and research methods are employed during the case study,
including direct classroom observation, interviews of bilingual instruction teachers
and the bilingual course attendance, etc.. Two questionnaire surveys are conducted
with sophomores on the Bilingual Education Program in SJTU and freshmen who are
to attend the bilingual courses. Based on the
