摘要

本文作者在教学实践中发现,许多学生上课缺乏参与,从而影响了
英语学习的积极性,影响了英语应用能力的提高。本文研究的目的是试
图找到一些改善这种情况的方法。
本研究中选择上海第二工业大学两个非英语专业一年级学生的班级
作为研究对象。研究过程中使用了问卷调查,口试和面试三种实验方法。
本文首先对学生参与课堂英语学习的理论,以及在这一领域已有的成果
作了阐述。在此基础上,作者进行了调查和实验并得出结论:为了使学
生达到最大限度的参与, 教师应当尤其注意满足学生的兴趣和要求,注
意教师和学生角色的相互转换, 在注重学习结果的同时要注重学习过程。
要用多种方法激发学生参与课堂活动,创造一种有益的课堂氛围的方法,
以提高学生的英语应用能力。

IN CLASSROOM LANGUAGE LEARNING
关于语言课堂教学中提高学生参与性的实验性研究


ABSTRACT


Impressed by the lack of active participation on the part of students in the writer’s
own teaching context, a research was carried out in order to look into what lied within
teachers’ power to improve the situation.
The writer first made a review of the previous studies in the field and then conducted
a survey of student participation in English teaching classroom in her university.
Two classes of first year students of non-English major in Shanghai Second
Polytechnique University were selected as the research sample. Questionnaires and oral
tests were used as the main method of the data collection and interviews were conducted
with twenty students from Class A as the triangulation was used in this research project.
The present paper first looks into the related literature and the research work in the
field of student participation in ELT class. Based on the findings, the writer holds that in
order to increase student participation, the instructor must pay great attention to factors
such as student needs and interests, teacher’s and students’ roles, process-oriented and
product-oriented approaches, and various devices to involve student participation and to
create a highly conductive classroom atmosphere for student involv
