Explain the new words and phrases of the text.
produce /pr[`dju:s/vt. produce, 产生,制造,它与make不同,make是需要原材料的制造,是做(东西)的意思。而produce则不同,它不一定需要原材料,例如:My grandma is making a shirt for me. 我奶奶正为我做衬衫。Hard work often produces good results. 努力的工作经常会有好结果。这课书的produce tears 当中的produce不能用make代替.

give up sth to sb, give up sth to sb, 放弃某物给某人。例如: They gave up the fort to the enemy. 面对敌人,他们放弃了堡垒。
be related to,be related to, 与…有关。例如,I am related to her by 。
to get rid of,to get rid of,摆脱,除去。例如,We’ll be glad to get rid of ,我们将很高兴。
journal/ `dV[:n[l/n.,journal,期刊,杂志。journal 和magazine 有所不同。Journal多是专业期刊,而magazine带有新闻性和大众性,甚至是广告。本课书的the journal Nature 是《自然》杂志的意思。
