Directions: In this test you will have an opportunity to demonstrate your ability to understand
and use spoken English. The test is divided into three parts.
Part 1 Read a short passage aloud and answer questions.
Part 2 Speak on a topic.
Part plete a role-play task with the examiner as your conversation partner.

I really made a fool of myself last week. My best friend and I have known each other for
eleven years and we see each other every weekend. Last Saturday we went to the cinema.
We bought ourselves a drink, and then went in and sat down. A few minutes later, a woman
came in and sat down next to us.
Five~inutes into the film , a mobile started to ring. To my horror, it was mine! This
was only 忡start! I bent down in the dark to pick up my bag so that I could switchoff the
phone. ]ustthen the woman turned to meand said, "What do you think you are doing?" I
looked down and realized that the bag was hers! I was so embarrassed!

Talk about one western festival that has family reunions. In what way is it similar to the

Part plete a role-play task with your examiner. Your conversation should last about 4
minutes.
A and B are both shopping at the supermarket. They meet. A asks B to help select
some foodstuffs.
You are A. You start the conversation with B. The following is the procedure you
should follow.
• Exchange greetings with B at the supermarket
• Ask B to help you to select some foodstuffs.
• You want to buy some potato chips and Cokes. Ask B for advice.
• Express your preference for some milk and fruit.
