Abstract As two basic information filtering approaches, content-based filtering and collaborative filtering
are widely used in personalized information service systems. However, both of them have some limitations. A
design and implementation of an improved information filtering bining collaborative and content-based
filtering is introduced in this paper. This system makes up for the deficiency of collaborative filtering systems and
content-based filtering systems.
