Abstract:puter systems are ing user-friendlier through the use of touch screen interfaces. Traditional ones either require for activating an actual contact between the fingers of the user and screen or depend on light transmitters and detectors which cause low resolution. The present system provides a method and apparatus for obtaining access puter system, which obviates the use of light detectors and enables the use of two infrared cameras. With the help of the retro-reflective film, the infrared cameras can determine the position of the touch. The proposed method has been tested on a set of real-world touch screens and is found to be near 90% accurate in calculating the position of the touch.

1. Introduction
puter systems are ing user-friendlier through the use of touch screen interfaces. Such interfaces provide a more intuitive method for an operator to use the programs. By touching the screen at a predetermined position with a finger, or with an object having a similar operation with respect to the touch screen, data are selected that are indicative of that particular position.
