 Coordinate with a Controller who prepares the most of pre-opening budget. GM
 Taking into consideration; Controller
 Payroll/ Staff expenses/ Advertising & Public Relations/ Direct Mailing/
Promotional activities/ Travel expense/ Operating supplies/ Office
equipment
 Sufficient funds of marketing expenses need to be allocated for the sensible
spending of the pre-opening activities, considering that the target opening date is
approximate and take longer than initially anticipated.
 Owner’s written approval required.

 Fax, Photocopier, Phone, Computer, Voice-mail, E-mail,
 Inform all corporate support offices that the pre-opening office has been
established together with contact details

RESEARCH – MARKETING CONDITIONS & PETITORS -12 months DOSM
 Obtain any available, recently conducted primary or secondary consumer, trade,
economy research which will provide an insight into the future positioning of the
hotel.
 Contact key industry people (Hotels, Travel agencies, Airlines, Convention &
Visitors Bureaus, etc...) to listen market environment, recent trends, major
business sources and so on.
