:当Px/Py大于在P1点的Px/Py时,A国在图A中对商品X的额外供给形成了A国出口商品X的供给曲线,即B图中的S。同样,当Px/Py小于P3点的Px/Py时,B国在图C中对商品X的额外需求形成了B国进口商品X的需求曲线,即图B中的曲线D。图B表明,只有在P2点A国想出口的X的数量才等于B国想进口的X的数量,即P2点就是贸易中Px/Py的均衡点。当Px/Py大于P2时,对于X存在着超额供给,从而使得Px/Py向P2点回落;当Px/Py小于P2时,对于X存在着超额需求,从而使得Px/Py向P2点上升。
