Finite Element Analysis of the Frame of Light Vehicle
Abstract:
Frame is the most important part of a Body-chassis frame construction. The performance of a frame directly determined the performance of an automotive. Further more, the performance of a frame is determined by the static and dynamic characteristics of its structure. So researches on the static and dynamic characteristics can not only estimate the frame characteristics, but also estimate the characteristics of an automotive. Papers use the software of UG to establish agricultural tricycle frame three-dimensional model of parts and assembly, and the use of related software on the frame to carry out finite element analysis of strength. Frame of the static characteristics and dynamic characteristics study were as follows:
With reasonable and suitable simplifications, a fine FEM model of the frame was established by using UG. The modal analyses of the frame were processed in NX NASTRAN. Finite element mesh division. A series of static analysis, include bending and torsion, were implemented on to the frame for simulation. The results of stress and deform presented the evidence of the weakness of the frame. Based on the former modal results, research of the dynamic response on the road was followed by choosing the cab’s installation place, the engine’s rod and the carriage’s support points as the output points. The frame’s dynamic stress dist
