Abstract
As a relatively new field of study, fuzzy linguistics is attracting more and more
attention. Calculation is the essential function of the numerals. However, numerals
don’t always show the exact number in our daily life. Numerals, as an important part
of language, are embodied with different types of cultural information. The numerals
are sometimes fuzzy, and the fuzziness is a basic attribute of language. First and
foremost, the thesis discusses the details about fuzziness, including the definitions and
characteristics of fuzziness and causes of language fuzziness, which makes
preparations for the discussion of the numerals with semantic fuzziness. Furthermore,
the thesis pays more stress on the rhetorical functions and aesthetic effects. Last but
not least, the thesis discusses briefly their translation principles such as principles of
adaption to the target language, principles of achieving idiomaticity and principles of
achieving vividness and their translation methods which include
