Antioxidation of Lycium barbarum extracts
【Abstract】 AIM: To investigate the antioxidative activity of the ethanol and water extracts of Lycium barbarum and their doseeffect relationship. METHODS: The Lycium barbarum extracts were provided by our laboratory. SpragueDawley rats were killed and then the livers were harvested to isolate the microsomes by calcium precipitation. The oxidantscavenging potential of the water and alcohol extracts was measured using the following chemiluminescence systems: CoCl2/EDTAinduced luminol chemiluminescence method and xanthinexanthine oxidaseluminol method. Two types of lipid peroxidation of rat liver microsomes models were used to determine the antioxidation of Lycium barbarum extracts. Then the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) was tested by colorimetry for analyzing the antioxidation of Lycium barbarum extracts in the 2 models. RESULTS
