数字图书馆描述性元数据仓储模型研究

摘要

随着数字图书馆的不断发展,元数据正发挥着愈来愈重要的作用,
不论是对数字图书馆的收藏组织,还是信息组织都起到了奠基性作用。
而描述性元数据因其自身的特性,在描述信息对象领域逐渐彰显其价
值。在元数据大规模普及使用的形势下,如何对其进行管理已成为一个
亟需关注的焦点。而建立一个开放、统一的描述性元数据仓储模型和管
理规范体系,则是元数据管理和数字图书馆研究领域都必须解决的问
题。
论文共分五部分来展开研究:
(一)对数字图书馆的定义和因素进行分析,并介绍元数据在数字
图书馆中的作用;介绍元数据的概念并分析其适用领域;重点介绍描述
性元数据以及常见的描述性数据规范。
(二)介绍元数据管理概念,并集中阐述作为其主流模式之一的元
数据仓储;分析元数据管理的价值所在以及当前研究方向。
(三)对 MDA 框架、UML、MOF、XMI、和 CWM 进行较为深入
的研究。随后对 CWM 的基础技术和 MDA 框架在数字图书馆领域运用
的可行性进行研究;其次重点对 CWM 的基础技术在描述性元数据仓储
系统中运用的可行性进行研究,并得出否定性结论;最后对制约 CWM
和 MDA 应用的问题予以分析。
(四)介绍管理性元数据及其模型意义和应用前景;在参考大型商
业元数据仓储系统方案、利用管理性元数据和 facade 模式的基础上,构
建由采集、加工和服务三个模块组成的数字图书馆描述性元数据仓储系
统模型。
(五)对本系统模型的后续发展情况进行总结。

MODEL OF DIGITAL LIBRARIES

ABSTRACT

With the continuous development of digital libraries, metadata is playing a more and
more important role in both digital library anization and information
organization, especially a fundamental role in anization. The descriptive
metadata has been gradually recognized of its value in the description of information
objects because of its own characteristics. In the situation of large-scale use and
popularization of metadata, how to manage them has e the focus question. And the
establishments of an open and unified descriptive metadata repository model and a
management normative system have e the critical problems to be resolved in both
metadata management field and digital library field.
This dissertation is divided into five parts for research purposes:
(1) The dissertation analyzed the definition and the factors of digital libraries. And it
introduced the role metadata is playing in digital libraries and the concept of metadata,
and then it analyzed the fields metadata could be applied to. It also emphasized on
introducing descriptive metadata
