世界金融危机报道中的隐喻认知研究

摘要

从亚里士多德时代开始,两千多年来,人们对隐喻的认识经历了一场从修辞
格和常规语言的偏离到一种思维方式的变革。传统的隐喻理论将隐喻研究局限在
修辞层和语言层上,其代表理论可以归结为:比较论、替代论和互动论。近三十
年来,以 Lakoff 和 Johnson 为代表的现代认知隐喻理论得到了越来越广泛的认
同。根据 Lakoff 和 Johnson 的观点,隐喻不仅普遍存在于人们的日常生活之中,
还广泛存在于人们的语言之中,更重要的是存在于人们的思想和行动中。因此,
隐喻是人们认识、感知世界的一种重要的认知工具;是人们进行抽象思维并且理
解抽象概念的重要机制。
本文主要采纳以 Lakoff 为代表的现代隐喻理论的观点,介绍分析隐喻的哲
学基础、映射机制,隐喻的分类并区分了隐喻概念与隐喻表达等等,旨在对目前
世界金融危机发生期间刊登在一些著名媒体上的英语语篇中隐喻的识别和理解
过程提供坚实的理论基础。
本文采用定性、定量分析相结合的方法,从世界金融危机发生期间一些权威
的经济类报纸中选取15篇文章,从中收集大量的隐喻表达式,并按照他们的始源
域进行分类找出其中的概念隐喻。之后,根据 Lakoff & Turner 论述的概念隐喻
的工作机制,设计图示用以对英语经济语篇中隐喻的映射过程进行具体分析,以
此说明概念隐喻中始源域的概念是如何映射到目标域,而最终实现隐喻的。
最后,本文分析了隐喻在经济语篇中较为显著的功能,即解释功能和构建功
能, 并结合所选经济新闻语篇中的具体隐喻表达对这些功能进行了阐释。
总之,本研究揭示了英语经济语篇的作者是如何通过隐喻这一手段,利用熟
知的具体的概念来解释纷繁复杂的经济概念、经济理论以及经济活动的。论文中
对经济语篇中隐喻的功能的阐释则可以帮助读者更好地理解经济语篇及经济活
动。

Abstract

Ever since the epoch of Aristotle, the study of metaphor has experienced a
prominent change from a matter of language to a manner of thinking. The
representatively traditional theory on metaphor includes parison Theory, the
substitution theory and the interaction theory. With the rising of cognitive linguistics,
conceptual metaphor theory inspired by Lakoff and Johnson has been attached more
importance by so many scholars in different field. In the light of Lakoff and Johnson,
metaphor is ubiquitous in human beings’ daily life. The conceptual system of we
human beings, based on which we human beings reason and take action, is
metaphorical in essence. Metaphor, therefore, is one of the most important cognitive
tools for us to perceive the outside world. Moreover, metaphor, as a cognitive tool, is
the primary mechanism for us to carry out abstract thinking prehend the
abstract notions.
