Abstract: anic-anic heterostructure light emitting diode consisting of the hole transporting
layer poly (9,9-dioctylfluorenyl-2,7-diyl) (PFO) and n-type ZnO nanorod arrays is reported. ZnO
nanorod arrays were synthesized by hydrothermal method, and characterized by scanning electron
microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and photoluminescence spectrum. The current-voltage characteristics of
the ZnO/PFO heterojunction showed diode behavior, and the turn-on voltage was V. The light
emitting phenomenon was observed in the heterostructure light emitting diode at the bias voltage of
.

0 Introduction
Considerable attention has been paid to the application of conjugated polymers to light
emitting devices (LEDs) due to their potential use in flat panel [1~3] and solar cell. The main
advantages of polymer-based devices are low power consumption, low cost, and simple process
ability[4]. Zinc oxide (ZnO) is an II-VI semiconductor material with a wide band gap of about
() together with a high exciton binding energy of (60 meV) at room temperature rendering
