阿特巴赫高等教育国际化思想研究

摘要
菲利普·G·阿特巴赫教授是当今国际高等教育研究领域知名专家,在世界享
有盛誉。阿特巴赫教授国际交流经验丰富,在高等教育国际化研究方面颇有建树,
是美国乃至全球学者中研究高等教育国际化的旗舰式人物,为高等教育国际化的
研究和发展做出了重要的贡献。
阿特巴赫高等教育国际化思想的内容主要分四个部分:第一,高等教育国际
化的概念与要素分析;第二,高等教育国际化的动因及世界各地高等教育的国际
化状况;第三,高等教育等现象及其根源;第四,高等教育
国际化的影响和趋势。阿特巴赫高等教育国际化思想的形成是建立在阿特巴赫教
授丰厚的学识、缜密的思考及研究和丰富的国际交流经验基础之上的,因而不仅
具有理论价值,更具有实践意义。 
阿特巴赫高等教育国际化思想具有鲜明的特征和成熟的研究方法。阿特巴赫
高等教育国际化思想主要具有以下几个特征:第一,危机意识无时不在;第二,
关怀之情溢于言表;第三,与时俱进全球领先;第四,注重实践言之有据。阿特
巴赫高等教育国际化的思想研究方法主要有以下几点:首先是多学科方法的应用,
阿特巴赫教授通过历史的、政治的、社会的、经济的等学科方法,对高等教育国
际化做了多学科分析;其次是多立场分析的研究,阿特巴赫的高等教育国际化思
想并没有强烈的美国傲慢主义态度,相反,对第三世界国家充满了同情和理解,
这都得益于其多立场分析的方法和全球化的大同思想;最后是多角度的分析,阿
特巴赫运用世界体系理论和冲突理论的分析框架,使得其高等教育国际化思想构
成了完整而严密的逻辑体系。 
阿特巴赫高等教育国际化思想在我国影响广泛,其关于高等教育国际化的文
章被引用较多。笔者分析,阿特巴赫的高等教育国际化思想对中国影响力之高主
要有以下几方面原因:闪光的思想、多渠道的传播方式、与中国高等教育国际化
发展的高适切性。

Abstract
Philip P Altbach , one of the most famous international higher education experts in
the world, is renowned for his rich experience of munication and high
quality research in internationalization. He has been regarded as a leader for his
significant contribution to higher education internationalization research.
Altbach’s ideas of higher education internationalization are divided into four part,
concepts and factors analysis of higher education internationalization, motivations and
landscape of higher education internationalization, inequality phenomenon and roots of
higher education internationalization, influence and trend of higher education
internationalization. The formation of these ideas is based on his great breadth of
learning, meticulous thinking and rich experience of munication, for
which, his ideas not only have theoretical values but practical meaning.
