Abstract
The production trials in winter wheat for several years in the province have proved that the soil moisture before winter season related closely with the overwinter survival of the soil water content for the safe overwintering of winter wheat was definited. The electrical conductivity values in leaf and leaf sheath of 2 winter wheat cultivars of Dongnong dongmai 1 and Jimai 22 which were different in freezing tolerance were measured during winter season under 4 soil moisture contents such as 15%±2%、30%±2%、45%±2% and normal treatment (NT, 35%~40%), and the survival rate of winter wheat seedlings in spring was the overwintering cases none of Jimai 22 but all of Dongnongdongmai 1 was able to be overwinterin in the all water treatments. It was very significant in the difference in the overwinter survival rate of Dongnongdongmai 1among the soil water treatments, appearing CK>30%±2%>45%±2%>15%±2% in the soil moisture, and was %, %, %,%,in the survival rate respectively. The values of electrical conductivity were showed to be increased gradually as lasting of the wheat seedlings exposure in cold temperature. The electrical conductivity of Dongnong dongmai 1 performed lower than that of Jimai 22, and that of the normal treatment also lower than that of other soil moisture treatments. A significant differences among survival rates of wheat under water treatments were found, and the result showed NT>30%±2%>45%±2%>15%±2%. 35%~40% for absolute soil moisture content prior to freezing period was benefi
