Behold! Heorot, the mead-hall mentioned by my mother. She told me that it is the most splendid hall in the world whose owner is Hrothgar, king of the Danes. So I have hung around here for several days, seeing if there is something delicious to eat or interesting to play. Fortunately, I find that every night the king and his thanes gather here to feast and enjoy the songs of his gleemen, and then they sleep soundly. There are many kinds of foods, fruits and wines, but none cater to my appetite. It seems that they enjoy those songs, the peculiar tunes, a lot. What an odd species they are! They are thorough monsters—eating almost any kind of creatures, crying the disgusting tunes. However, I bet they must be delicious--every night when they sleep like a log the tasty smell of their bodies rate me. Tonight I will treat myself because I cannot stand the temptation.
The tasty es again. They must have gone to sleep. It’s my time. I decide to start my dishes from the muscular warriors who have the most delicious smell. My house is far from here, and I don’t want to walk such a long way everyday; so I get thirty warriors and pack them and bring them home. God, they are the most delicious food I have ever tasted. They are so delicious that I can not stop eating. I thought thirty can support three days but I was wrong. It seems that tomorrow I am going to eat them up.
