1. Identifying the problem in terms of your key corp objectives and goals 1A WHAT is the specific problem you want to solve that is affecting the business? Any characteristic or condition that is affecting the ess of the business. Correlates to a Critical To (CT) factor, see 1D below.
1B WHERE is this problem occurring? Physical location, identified process, equipment, material (can be more than one of these options).
1C WHO is the customer(s) most affected by this problem? The entity(ies) most effected by this problem. This can be an internal and/or external customer.
1D Identify the Critical To (CT) factor associated with this problem Problems impacting the business tend to be "Critical To" or impactful on Quality, Delivery or Cost (Price) for customers, suppliers or internal needs.
1E Link the problem to one of your anizational goals and objectives Six Sigma should be supporting the needs of the business. This is identified by linking the problem to one or more of the businesses key objectives that is improved by solving this problem
