Methods: (1) Based on the ancient and current re ference materials, database about TCM syndrome of palpitation and yin deficiency -hyperactivity of fire as well as herbs information was established. (2) Symptoms were treated with language standardization and quantified assignment, and then symptom attributes were reduced through Rosetta software of the KDD analytical-operational system based on rough set theory, thus gaining expert knowledge about palpitation and yin deficiency- hyperactivity of fire, and statistics about decision rules of this system so as to establish syndrome differentiation system of palpitation and yin deficien cy-hyperactivity of fire.
