摘 要：工业工程（Industrial Engineering，简称 IE），是从科学管理的基础上发
展起来的一门应用性工程专业技术。伴随着人类社会工业化的进程，它已经走过
100 多年的历史了。由于它的内容强调综合地提高劳动生产率、降低生产成本、
保证产品质量，使生产系统能够处于最佳运行状态而获得最高的整体效益，所以
近数十年来一直受到各国的重视，尤其是那些经历过或正在经历工业化变革的国
家或地区，如美国、日本、亚洲四小龙及泰国等地方，都将其视为促进经济发展
的主要工具，同时相对的 IE 技术在这种环境下亦得到迅速的成长。本文就不同
地区 IE 发展做出介绍和对比，为我们更好的学习和运用工业工程这个有用的助
手打下基础。
