从上世纪二十年代以来,蜗杆传动机构的研制工作发展很快,蜗杆传动已广泛应用在冶金、矿山、起重运输、化工。蜗杆传动是传递交错轴间的动力或运动的传动机构,它主要由蜗杆和蜗轮组成。蜗杆相当于一头或多头的等导程(或变导程)螺旋,蜗轮则是变态斜齿轮(或为斜齿轮或为直齿轮)。手摇蜗轮是蜗杆传动的一种,它是通过缠绕钢丝绳来调整带式输送机小车上改向滚筒的位置,从而防止输送带跑偏的一种装置。

The hand operated worm gear is the worm drive one kind, it is adjusts on the belt conveyer car through the winding steel wire to change to the drum position, thus prevented the conveyor belt runs the leaning one kind of equipment.
