LEDs is mentioned continuously on the mainstream media all over the world. The governments worldwide are making policy to push the replacement from traditional lighting to more environmental friendly lighting solutions particularly LED for both public and private lighting applications such as EU, Japan, and Canada forbid using incandescent bulbs after 2012.
High power s as the most promising product among LEDs family are being more and more applied in lamp, electronic appliance, decorative and other lighting applications.
The reason high power LEDs is so hot and LED market boosts in the 2009 regardless the decline of economy is two-fold. Firstly they are more energy efficient. They can offer more lumens per watt compared to traditional lights. In most case high power led consumes power from 1w to 10w which are very level. Plus high powers LEDs is mercury-free while CFL contains a few amount of mercury, many cities start to limit the use of lamps with mercury composition, so LED technologies has advantage over CFL in terms of requirement of hazardous material free.
High power LEDs also have a much longer life than incandescent light bulbs. Usually a led can last 10 times longer than an incandescent bulb results in much less upkeep.
