一、党的性质
十七大党章规定：“中国共产党是中国工人阶级的先锋队，同时是中国人民和中华民族的先锋队，是中国特色社会主义事业的领导核心，代表中国先进生产力的发展要求，代表先进文化的前进方向，代表中国最广大人民的根本利益。 ”
党的性质具体表现为：
第一，新党章把党的先锋队性质由“一个先锋队”进一步表述为“两个先锋队”
第二，把“两个先锋队”和“三个代表”共同作为党的性质的重要规定性鲜明地表达出来，极大地丰富了党的先进性的内涵，意义重大而深远。
二、党的指导思想
党的指导思想，是指导我们党全部活动的理论体系，是党的思想建设、组织建设和作风建设的理论基础。
十七大党章明确规定：“中国共产党以马克思列宁主义、毛泽东思想、邓小平理论和三个代表重要思想作为自己的行动指南”。
二、党的指导思想
十五大报告中指出：“旗帜问题至关重要。旗帜就是方向，旗帜就是形象。”
　　1、党从成立的那一天起，就举起了马克思列宁主义旗帜；
　　2、党的七大：举起了毛泽东思想的旗帜；
