The writer adopted a short novel Replacement theory from You are free written by
American contemporary writer Danzy Senna as translation material. The total word number
of the translation of this novel is 12,000. Through the translation progress, the writer finds
some questions that we usually meet in translating literary works. To resolve these problems,
the writer will give a detail analysis with examples of the translation text.
This novel of Danzy Senna is a realistic work. It reflects the life of ordinary people. The
main topic of replacement theory is the marriage life of the mulattoes and the contrast
between woman with children and woman without children.
There are five main parts of this report. The first and the second parts are the description
of translation and the translation process. The third part of the report is the analysis of
examples of translation. The writer talked about the usage of some translation skill in this
part.
Through this translation practice, the author realized to produce excellent works not only need to
understand the English text accurately, but also need to give out fluent and idiomatic expressions in the
output. Rigorous working attitude and profound cultural background knowledge are also absolutely
necessary.

摘要
该翻译任务是美娜的短篇小说集《你自由了》当中的一篇短篇
小说——《替代理论》，译文共计 1 万 2 千余字，笔者将以这篇论文的翻译作为材料来
分析文学作品翻译过程中常出现的问题。
丹姿·席娜的作品具有很强烈的现实主义色彩，讲述的都是平凡人的故事。她的作
品主要探讨混血儿的婚姻生活问题，其中对有孩子的女人和没孩子的女人的生活和心理
状态的对比尤为突出。
这篇报告共分为五大部分。第一部分和第二部分分别是是翻译任务描述和翻译过程
描述。第三部分是翻译案例分析。笔者结合具体翻译实例分析了在翻译过程中常用的几
种翻译技巧，如选词法，增补法，合译法和意译法等。第四部分是对翻译问题的思考。
第五部分是翻译实践总结。
通过这次翻译实践，笔者意识到要译出好的作品不仅需要对英文原文精准的理解和
把握，还要有用流利地道的中文输出和表达的能力，更需要严谨认真的工作态度和渊博
的文化背景知识。
