腰间盘突出症是临床上较为常见的腰部疾患之一，是骨伤科的常见病、多发病。腰椎间盘突出症的牵引疗法是应用力学中作用力与反作用力之间的关系，通过特殊的牵引装置来达到治疗目的的一种方法。腰椎康复背心集牵引、药疗、磁疗于一体，通过三种疗法，实现对腰椎间盘突出的切实治疗。

中医学典籍中无腰椎间盘突出症之名，根据该病的临床表现，可归于“肾虚”、“腰痛”、“腰腿痛”、“痹症”等范畴。腰间盘相当于一个微动关节，是由透明软骨板、纤维环和髓核组成，分布在腰椎骨间。腰椎间盘退行性改变或外伤所致纤维环破裂，髓核从破裂处脱出，压迫腰椎神经，而出现腰腿放射性疼痛，所以医学界认为腰间盘突出属“腰腿痛，痹症”范畴。
西医认为腰间盘突出症是临床上较为常见的腰部疾患之一，是骨伤科的常见病、多发病。腰间盘存在于腰椎的各个椎体之间，为腰椎关节的组成部分，对腰椎椎体起着支撑、连接和缓冲的作用，它的形状象个压扁的算盘珠。当由于外伤、退变等原因造成纤维环破裂，髓核脱出，就称为腰间盘突出。由于马尾神经由间盘的后方经过，当突出的间盘压迫神经根或马尾神经引起腰腿痛或大小便失禁、神经功能障碍时，就称为腰椎间盘突出症。
