Abstract—Catalytic ozonation of p-chlorobenzoic acid (p-CBA) in to analyze catalytic activity of activated carbon and Ni
aqueous solution has been carried out where transitional metal supported activated carbon (Ni/AC) catalyst.
(Ni, Cu, Mn, Co, Fe) supported activated carbon was used as
catalysts. Ni supported activated carbon ( Ni/AC) catalyst, which
is prepared by the dipping method with an aqueous solution of
II. EXPERIMENTAL
Ni(NO3)2, shows higher catalytic activity. Activated carbon and
Ni/AC catalyst were characterized by XRD, SEM and BET. The A. Preparation of the transitional metal (Ni, Cu, Mn, Co, Fe)
presence of either activated carbon or Ni/AC catalyst supported activated carbon catalysts
significantly improves the degradation of p-CBA and TOC
pared to ozonation alone. Moreover, the Ni/AC Activated carbon (industry grade) was supplied by
catalyst still shows well catalytic activity and stability during Guangzhou Tianjin Chemical Co. Ltd. (Guangzhou, China),
p-CBA ozonation after six repetitive uses. and its particle size ranges from -2
