(一)波音公司并购麦道公司
1996年12月15日，世界最大的航空制造公司美国波音公司，宣布并购世界第三大航空制造公司美国麦道公司。并购总价值133亿美元。并购后，每份麦道股份变为0．65波音股份。麦道品牌只保留100座的MD一95型客机，其余民用客机一律改为波音品牌。从此，有76年历史，举世闻名的麦道公司不复存在。波音公司总经理于1997年2月出任新波音的主席和总经理，三分之二以上管理干部由波音派出。新波音拥有20万员工，500亿美元资产，净负债仅仅10亿美元。当时预计在1998年，新波音公司可望有530亿美元的进账，可牢牢稳住世界民用和军事飞机制造企业的龙头老大的地位。
