SUBCOURSE OVERVIEW

This subcourse is designed to give soldiers a practical knowledge of surveying fundamentals and
equipment, as well as a review of some of the mathematics needed in surveying operations.

The prerequisite for this course is a basic knowledge of mathematic principles, to include multiplication,
division, fractions, and decimals or pletion of the Army Correspondence Course Program
(ACCP) Missile & Munitions Subcourse (MM) 0099.

This subcourse reflects the doctrine that was current when it was prepared. In your own work situation,
always refer to the latest publication.

At Appendix D, you will find an English/metric conversion chart.

Unless otherwise stated, the masculine gender of singular pronouns is used to refer to both men and
women.

TERMINAL LEARNING OBJECTIVE:

ACTION: You will learn how to use math, geometry, and trigonometry in surveying
calculations and be able to identify and understand the uses of surveying equipment.

CONDITION: You will be given the material in this subcourse and an ACCP examination response
sheet.

STANDARD: To petency of this task, you must achieve a minimum of 70 percent
on the subcourse examination.
