To learn to make a plan for helping others in need
[Teaching methods] 
As for teaching methods, I think communicative approach and multi-media teaching are to be used in the course of this lesson.
So emphases are to be laid on the following points:
student-centered teaching
activity-based approach
task-based approach
multi-media teaching
listenin and talking methods
[Studying methods]
Individual, pair and group work 
to let every student work in class and keep listening carefully
[Teaching aids] tape-recorder, computer, epidiascope 
[Teaching time] 45 minutes
[Teaching procedures]
Part I:

Step1. Warming up 
Ss ask questions about each other and the teacher.
. S1→S2, Ss→T: 
What’s your hobby?
                 Are you ready to help people in need?
                 Are you generous?
                 Do you donate money to charities?
Which charities do you know ?
(Have a free talk with each other, to create a situation of English study, encourage the students to be eager to speak English)
Step2. Revision 
Review some Chinese and international charities. 
1) T: Which charity is your favourite ?
Can you tell me something about them ?
(Such as : Project Hope, Project Green Hope , Spring Bud Project , Save China’s Tigers , etc.)
2) T: Do you also know some international charities ?
T shows some signs and names of the charities on the screen, 
. Oxford, UNICEF, ORBIS, World Vision, World Wide Fund  for Nature , etc.

(some pictures and topics will attract the students’ attention, they may be interested in them, and want to speak Enlish)

Step3. Lead-in 
1) T reminds Ss of the ways of raising money they have learned ,
  and asks them to guess which way Hobo will use to raise money.
