Concept of energy metabolism:
The processes of liberation, transfer, storage and utilization of energy taking place with substances metabolism
Direct Calorimetry——
   to measure the sum of heat production of whole body in a unit of time
Indirect Calorimetry——
    ◎ the principle of chemical reactions
◎to check up how much carbohydrates, fats and proteins are oxidized respectively in certain times
◎to calculate the sum of heat production of body in this times

Simplified method of Indirect Calorimetry: to measure volumes of O2 used in certain times and calculate the calories according to certain formula.
Thermal Equivalent of Food——
    Calories liberated by 1g of food oxidized in body(or burned out of body).
