The Inefficiency of the Group
Ⅰ. Abstract
Each of us has the experience of group working. We have all joined at least 2 groups to achieve some goal. Maybe the experience is pleasant, but there are still some unpleasant ones. In the course of OB, we have learned some theories and approaches that can be used to explain the phenomenon. So, we decided to do some research on the inefficiency of the group.
In our research, we try to prove the efficiency phenomenon we can watch in our studies and living life. So, we designed a questionnaire in which we can test and verify our perception. After that, we hope we can find some solutions.
According to the result of the questionnaire, we find that we are right. We can attribute this to many factors such as group size, lack of motivation and so on. In particular, we think many members join groups constrainedly and have no interest, but we try to use the principal-agent theory. Because, in our points of view, the reasons above are actually phenomena, the real reason lies in the economic factors behind. There is a problem of “Free Riding”. Many people wait for others to do, and they can share the achievements without doing anything.
Ⅱ. The Result of our Questionnaire
The result of our questionnaire coincides our perception.
①. Sampling Method
This questionnaire was designed to find out whether the learning teams are efficient in the process of achieving the goals, and the reasons for that. We queried 30 schoolmates including 15 males and 15 females all of who have the experience of attending a team for at least 2 times.

②. Result
The result is quite precise. Because we ourselves have expected such results, we can
