设的过程较长、投入巨大，短期效果不明显、又无显性的经济效益。所以对医院来讲，很难将其作为一项重点来抓，院长更是不能深入其中。这导致了在医院信息化进程中，需要调整医疗流程时无法做到彻底，需要配合管理措施时执行不力，需要不同岗位不同科室之间配合时无法很好地协同工作。其实不是医院不重视，而是院长的重视不够，如果医院的院长能够像对待财务和人事那样亲自主管，并深入到信息化建设当中，这些问题都能得到有效解决。
医院信息化建设的许多事情，离开院长是无法完成或难以完成的，必须引起医院和院长和足够重视。
■ 信息化完全不同于传统的手工模式，它会带来思想意识的改变、业务流程的改变、管理模式的改变。所以医院信息化建设也是业务流程优化与重组的过程，也是转变思想观念的过程，也是进一步完善医院管理的过程，也是提高医院整体医疗水平的过程，而这些又都是离开院长无法完成的事情。
