西沙湿地公园
概述
西沙湿地公园于2005年9月19日成立，位于崇明岛西南端，绿华镇桃源水乡与明珠湖大堤外侧，总面积4500亩。它是崇明岛国家地质公园的核心组成部分、崇明岛国家地质公园纪念碑所在地，也是上海目前唯一具有自然潮汐现象和成片滩涂林地的自然湿地，还是上海市科委立项的湿地生态修复实验基地。
2、湿地植物
西沙湿地的地质遗迹和景观主要有“河口潮滩地貌地质遗迹”、“湿地地貌地质遗迹”及湿地植被、鸟类、底栖动物等。园内主要保存着两大类十七种典型的地质遗迹，展示着世界第一大河口冲积岛沧海桑田的地质景观及人与自然和谐相处的生态文明。

西沙湿地与东滩湿地不同，周而复始的潮汐现象，是西沙湿地赖以生存的重要条件。潮水一涨一落的时间平均为12小时24分钟。因为潮汐，这里形成了丰富的地形地貌，湿地中港汊纵横，具有湖泊、泥滩、内河、芦苇丛、沼泽等不同的湿地形态。另外，潮汐的涨落还孕育了湿地里多样性的动物，比如迁徙到来的候鸟和随着潮汐而来的沙蟹。
3、湿地生物
西沙湿地有着丰富的动植物资源。湿地共有种子植物46种，植物优势种有芦苇、野茭白、荩草、马兰、糙叶苔草以及人工种植的旱柳、落羽杉等，水塘中主要为狐尾藻、巩草等沉水植物，边缘为芦苇、狭叶香蒲等挺水植物。
西沙滩涂湿地和植物资源地吸引了大量的鸟类，使其成为许多候鸟重要的越冬栖息地。目前记录到的鸟类有26种，其中林灌丛活动鸟类14种，湿地环境活动鸟类11种，最为常见的有大白鹭、绿头鸭、震旦雅雀等。
