Mid-Autumn Festival (or Moon Festival)
Mid-autumn Festival is on 15th day of the 8th month in the Chinese calendar (农历). On Mid-Autumn Festival, the moon is bright and round, and we eat moon cakes.
There are many stories about the moon. The most popular one is the story about Chang’e.
After Houyi (后羿) shot down nine suns, the king was very happy. He gave Houyi a big house and a lot of gold. After some time, Houyi became evil (邪恶). He tried to find ways to live forever.
One day, a magician (魔术师) gave him a magic stone. Houyi was excited. He put the stone under the bed.
后羿射日之后, 玉皇大帝很高兴, 给了后羿大房子和金子。过了一些 时间,后羿变得很邪恶。他开始找 长生不老的方法。一天魔术师给他 魔法石。后羿兴奋地把石藏床底。
Houyi’s wife Chang’e wanted to take the stone away. She didn't want Hou Yi to live forever, because he was evil. So one day, when Hou Yi left home, she found the stone and wanted to threw it. But when she took the stone, she heard her ing home. Chang’e didn’t know where to put the stone, so she put it into her mouth.

Suddenly, Chang’e became very light and started to flew. She flew out of the window and flew into the sky. Hou Yi was angry. He tried to catch her. But he failed. He could only watch her flew away. Finally, Chang’e flew to the moon and lives there forever.

On the evening of mid-autumn festival, there will be a big family dinner. People who work far away from their homes will try e back for the union. After dinner, people will light the lanterns which are usually red and round. Children will play with their own toy lanterns happily.
