Ohio is a sest, and the fifteenth largest city in the United States of America. Named for explorer Christopher Columbus, the city was founded in 1812 and assumed the functions of state capital in 1816. The city has a diverse economy based on education, government, insurance, banking, fashion, defense, aviation (air flight) , food, clothes, logistics (organization of services and supplies), steel, energy, medical research, health care, hospitality, retail and technology. Modern Columbus has emerged as a technologically sophisticated city. It is home to the world‘s largest private research and development foundation, the Battelle Memorial Institute; CAS, or Chemical Abstracts Service, the world’s largest clearinghouse of chemical information; NetJets, the world‘s largest fractional ownership jet aircraft fleet; and The Ohio State University, the nation’s largest campus.

Ohio University
Ohio University is a research university located on a 1,850-acre ( km2) campus in Athens, Ohio. Founded in 1804,[2][3][4] it was the first university established in the Northwest Territory and is the ninth oldest public university in the United States. The Athens campus enrolls more than 21,000 students, who come from nearly every state and approximately 100 nations. Five regional campuses and e-learning programs further extend educational access and opportunity to students across southern Ohio and bring the total student population to more than 35,000.
Ohio University offers more than 250 areas of undergraduate study. On the graduate level, the University grants master’s and PHD degrees in many of its major academic divisions and doctoral degrees in selected departments. Ohio University is fully accredited by the North Central Ass
